Michelle's Story

Michelle attends a day school, Keshet Gadol, where she has an amazing art teacher. She enjoys art and drama very much! When she draws, she finds that it relaxes her. She especially loves to draw flowers. While participating in drama class Michelle is able to become someone else which she enjoys.

Michelle has already beaten the odds. Her mom says that she is the happiest sick kid you’ve ever met. She suffers from a very rare genetic disorder, Familial Dysautonomia (FD). Worldwide, there are only 350 people that are affected by FD. It affects things like swallowing, tear production, pain perception, plus much more - things we take for granted. (www.famdys.org).

When Michelle is not at day school, she is involved with Buddy Baseball. She loves watching football and baseball -- Go Chicago Bears and Go Cubs! But most of all, she enjoys spending time with her parents and friends. She makes everyone happy and people love being around her.

Michelle is truly a Creative Soul.
